Acclivis Receives 2020 IBM Singapore Innovation Award

Sep 15, 2020 | Articles

Acclivis Technologies and Solutions (“Acclivis”) has won the IBM Singapore Innovation Award for 2019 which serves to recognise and celebrate the achievements of IBM Business Partners who have built and implemented a transformational solution using IBM products to solve a client’s most pressing technology challenge.

Acclivis won the award based on the successful implementation of SimplyGo for the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA). SimplyGo is a revolutionary e-payment solution, otherwise known as an account-based ticketing (ABT) system which changes the way commuters pay for their public transport. An ABT is a single, integrated system that allows commuters to use contactless options such as credit/debit cards, Apple Pay and Android Pay to foot their transport fares, and monitor their travel history and fares on the go.

In delivering the project, Acclivis harnessed IBM’s next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) computer servers, software-defined storage and predictive analytics software and integrated the most advanced technologies in AI, IoT, big data, analytics and cybersecurity to build a resilient back-end IT infrastructure for ` A Member of CITIC TELECOM INTERNATIONAL Singapore | Thailand | Indonesia | Malaysia Singapore | Hong Kong | Malaysia | Indonesia | Thailand SimplyGo. The solution was also built on Acclivis’ private cloud, and managed as part of a multi-year, multi-million contract for LTA.

As the first country in Asia and the second city in the world after London to implement account-based ticketing, Acclivis has been an integral technology partner of LTA, helping Singapore accelerate its vision to be a Smart Nation. Today, more than 350,000 trips on the public transport network every day are paid with SimplyGo. Since April 2019, more than 250,000 commuters have also signed up for a TransitLink SimplyGo account with a registered bank card.

Mr Marcus Cheng, CEO of Acclivis said: “Many thanks to IBM Singapore who continues to validate the achievements of Business Partners who have delivered outstanding results. Acclivis is honoured to win such a prestigious award which showcases the strength of our expertise and the innovative Smart Cities solutions we are delivering for our clients. We have come a long way from edging out the competition to win the tender bid for SimplyGo in 2017, and are exceptionally proud to be placed in the same league as Accenture, Singapore Technologies Engineering and NTT Singapore Solutions – fellow award winners in the innovation category. We look forward to a broader and deeper engagement with IBM to empower our clients’ digital transformation throughout Asia.”
